GHI is dedicated to improving health through education, research, and service in partnership with communities around the world. Since many academic disciplines address the challenges of global health, GHI brings together faculty and students from many different schools and programs on campus. Dr. Sola Olopade named Clinical Director, Global Health Initiative
Dr. Olopade comes to us from the University of Illinois at Chicago, where he was Professor of Medicine and Public Health and served as Director of Clinical Research for the Section of Pulmonary, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine. In addition to his excellent clinical skills, Dr. Sola Olopade brings much needed complementary expertise in health policy and administration, which will not only be essential for the Global Health Initiative but also helpful in furthering collaboration across departments in the Division of Biological Sciences to reduce global health disparities in the US and abroad.
